What a wonderful mix. The 13th Floor Elevators version of "May the Circle Remain Unbroken" is a revelation! I can't remember the last time I heard something so desolate as that song. In a weird way, it reminds me of El Paso.

Glad y'all are digging the mix. The 13th Floor Elevators is an especial favorite of mine; weird even by their standards, to me it always seemed like the sound of Roky Ericson teetering on the abyss...

So much to get into on this mix! who the hell were sound vendor? a truly crazed track.
but why is the stereo mix over a minute shorter? something to do with the dopler effect?
Very astute, emberglance! I actually tightened up the mix a bit on the new version (i.e., there's more overlap between some of the songs now). Plus, as you note, there's the Dopler effect to contend with.
Don't know anything about the Sound Vendor (except that it's great, of course). I *believe* that they were a Los Angeles band - or their label was, at least.
Mister Sun could have been a 13th floor elevators track.
